Orchid Garden

Today on the way home from school I decided that after lunch we were going on an outing. We loaded up the car James, Carley, Alma and I and we headed to the Orchid Garden. The beauty of the Orchid garden is it is free during the week, not crowded, close by, shaded for the most part and easy. James and Carley enjoyed a good walk and some fresh air before we headed home for naps. The orchid garden is small, but always very pretty. We encountered a group of students painting water colors of the orchids. They were very talented. Carley took the role of leader and pointed the way. We found some fountains and a lily pond and managed to keep both kids dry. The other great thing about the orchid garden is it is the cheapest place in the city to buy orchids. I picked out a new one for the front door and Carley got to pick one for her room. (Carley took the picture below)Our grand total with fertilizer was RM 54 just under 20 US dollars. I also learned that Carley is a great photographer. She asked for the camera and as I was absorbed in finding the perfect orchid I handed it over. Here are a sampling of the pictures she took. Plus she took the picture at the top.

I hope that your Monday is as fun as ours was. We are counting down the days until we head to the USA. Can't wait.
LOVE TO ALL

Hey Paige, What a great place to visit! Sure looks like fun. Carley is following a long line of Mixter photographers. We can't wait to see you all as well. Love Kath and the boys.

What beautiful pictures and what a talented photographer Carley is. That sounded like a great family outing which was also very inexpensive. We certainly enjoyed our trip to CT and thought of you as we sampled several new seafood dishes. Look forward to seeing you, Carley, and James in 13 days. Thanks for sharing the great pictures as well as the story of your outing.
